CLEIOS

κλέος kléos  ·  Ancient Greek Renown earned through what you actually did.

Custom software, automation, and technology advisory for businesses that would rather have a partner who knows their systems than a vendor who knows their invoice number.

What we do

Four questions, and the work that answers them.

Most engagements start with a business owner asking one of these out loud.

The question“Can someone just build the thing?”

Custom Software & Web Development

Purpose-built tools for the parts of your business that off-the-shelf software never quite fit.

  • Business websites and landing pages
  • Internal tools — quoting, scheduling, job tracking, reporting
  • Database design, data cleanup, and migrations
  • Integrations between the systems you already run
The question“Why is this still manual?”

Automation & AI Integration

Removing the repetitive work that quietly eats a day a week.

  • Automating intake, quoting, scheduling, follow-up, and reporting
  • AI agents and assistants built around your actual workflows
  • AI-assisted document, proposal, and report generation
  • Straight guidance on which AI tools are worth adopting — and which aren't
The question“Can you work in our world?”

Software for Regulated & Compliance-Driven Businesses

Building for firms where access, audit trails, and data handling aren't afterthoughts — without needing the rules explained first.

  • Internal platforms for compliance, security, and healthcare organizations
  • Role-based access, audit logs, SSO, and the controls auditors ask about
  • Tools built around frameworks like NIST CSF, so your team runs them — not us
  • Comfortable with your IT or security lead reviewing the work
The question“Where do we even start?”

Small Business Technology Setup

Getting a young business on solid footing before bad habits set in.

  • Domain, professional email, and file storage
  • Software stack selection and configuration
  • Quoting, invoicing, and job-tracking systems
  • Documentation your team can actually follow
Ask one of these out loud

The first conversation is free, and we'll tell you if you don't need us.

What we've done

The name means renown earned through deeds. These are the deeds so far.

Client names are withheld until they're ready to be named. Ask, and we'll walk you through any of these in detail.

Taking over and extending three internal platforms

A mid-sized firm serving regulated clients had three web applications its founder built in-house: a risk-assessment platform, a client-management portal, and a commissions tool. We picked them up mid-stream — set up the development environment, established a review-and-deploy workflow with their IT lead, ran discovery with the people who use the tools every day, and now build against a prioritized backlog.

The risk platform runs NIST CSF assessments and drafts control narratives with AI; the work there is turning it from a working prototype into something the firm can put in front of clients.

Two AI agents for the managers who run the locations

Working in-house for a multi-site healthcare group, we built two agents for the operations managers responsible for each location. The first takes and processes inbound phone calls, so managers can see what customers are actually calling about and fix the engagement problems behind the calls instead of guessing at them. The second reads across the group's scheduling data and reports on it — turning a pile of logistics into something a manager can act on before the week starts.

The lesson that carried into Cleios: the agent is the easy part. Making it trustworthy enough that a busy manager stops double-checking it is the actual work.

A daily operations view pulled straight from the warehouse platform

Account managers were checking each client's orders and deadlines by hand every morning. We're building a read-only dashboard that pulls what's due and what's moving from their warehouse management platform's API and runs on a machine in their office — no new logins, no new subscription, nothing to babysit.

A consumer productivity app for iOS

The product side of the same name: an iOS app we've designed and built end to end — product decisions, data model, interface, and release. Shipping a proprietary product is the fastest way we know to stay honest about what "simple" actually costs, and it keeps the advice we give clients grounded in the build.

How it works

Scope, timeline, and price in writing before anything starts.

Three ways to work together. Which one fits depends on the shape of the work, not the size of your budget.

Defined outcome

Project

A fixed scope and a fixed deliverable — a website, an assessment, one build. Fixed or capped fee, agreed up front.

Ongoing

Retainer

A set block of hours each month for continuing work and support. Predictable cost for you, predictable capacity for us.

As needed

Hourly

For advisory and troubleshooting that's hard to scope in advance. Always billed against a not-to-exceed cap.

Who it's for

Businesses small enough to move fast, serious enough to want it done right.

Owner-operated businesses

Trades, services, and shops where the owner is still the IT department and would rather not be.

Growing teams

Companies past the spreadsheet stage that need real systems before the seams start showing.

Advisory & professional firms

Compliance, security, and healthcare practices that need someone who can build inside their rules, not have them explained.

Start a conversation

The first conversation costs nothing.

Tell us what's not working. If we can help, we'll put the scope and price in writing. If we can't, we'll tell you that too — and usually point you somewhere better. Based in Nashville; most work happens remotely, and we'll come to you when it matters.
